my very talented friend courtney santo had her first novel published last month. she and i met on the first day of school our freshman year in journalism class when we were 14, and we've been friends ever since. she is my closest friend from high school. it's so valuable to have a friend in your life that has known you for so long. she has dreamt of being a writer, and publishing a novel, since she was 8 years old, and i am so proud of her for making it happen! she has a reading tonight at powell's. if you're in town, come check it out. if not, you can still look into her book The Roots of the Olive Tree. i've just started it and i love it!
