today was strangely dry and warmish (46 degrees). despite my head cold i decided it was time to get outside for a bit and do some chores. gigi fed the hens some scratch while i cleaned out the nesting boxes.
after running around the backyard a bit we decided to see what was going on in the front and side yard. to my surprise i found heads on my broccoli! the biggest one was only the size of a racquetball, but i'm hoping it will get bigger when spring arrives. i've never grown broccoli before, so i'm feeling pretty good right now. it's kind of crazy to discover broccoli heads in your garden in january...
other things i'm loving right now:

i can't stop listening to french soul singer ben l'oncle on spotify
