snapshots from the weekend

another perfect pizza, this time with spinach from the garden

i should rename this blog A Pizza A Week, don't you think?

eggs from our hens, decadent hash browns and bacon from our recent pork purchase

soy marinated tofu and spinach from the garden over ramen topped with peanut sauce

left to right:peas, chard, and bok choy

hello broccoli starts! my first homegrown starts. i'm pretty proud.

finally set up the hutch my grampa built for his girls (my mom and her sisters) for gigi. so wonderful to see it still being loved. 

we've all been a bit under the weather this weekend, but managed to still have a balance of fun and rest

  1. Wow, your garden is looking great! All your food looks delicious, as always. Love the red spotty cups on the hutch. How lovely to be using a toy that has been in the family for so long. (and I think A Pizza A Week is a great blog name!) x

    1. thanks gillian! i searched and searched for the perfect tea set and i'm really happy with it. i'm glad i found cups with handles that could be hung. i think that's half the charm of the hutch.

  2. Your pizza looks amazing! Do you make your own crust? I have before, but here recently I have been buying a whole wheat crust at the market just to save on time. I have planned to make a margarita pizza this week, but will be making a spinach one very soon!

    1. thanks julia! i do make my my own crust. the recipe makes three crusts, so i use one and freeze the other two. i'm planning on tinkering with a whole wheat, or at least partially whole grain, dough. it might be a good time to break out the vital wheat gluten!
