ripe tomatoes! from my garden! the big-ish one is a san marzano, supposedly the queen of the canning tomatoes, and the smaller ones are white stripe romas. i am hopeful that i'll get enough to can with. i've never canned tomatoes before. most of the recipes for canning sauce call for 45 lbs of tomatoes. i'm crossing my fingers that my two plants can come up with that much fruit.
last week was my birthday and one of my favorite gifts was a assortment of weck jars. they are so pretty! on sunday my mom brought over a bunch of wild blackberries that she had picked, so naturally i had to make some jam and try out my new jars! i loooooove them!
